Five times champion Dempo Sports Club hope to continue their momentum when they face bottom placed Kenkre FC in the I-League 2 match, at Ella ground, Old Goa, on Thursday.
Dempo head coach Samir Naik is aware that their opponents cannot be underestimated and the team will be playing with caution to obtain the full points.
Naik believes in the capabilities of the team which performed well in the previous round match.
"It’s an important match for us and our goal is to return to the top. All our focus is currently on the match against Kenkre FC and I hope that the team will be ready and all players are fully prepared,” said Naik who guided Dempo to a 1-0 win over opponents Sporting Club Bengalaru in the previous match.
The coach, however, said Kenkre FC pose a different challenge to his ranks.
“The recent victory in the League against Sporting Club Bengaluru gave us a great morale boost to continue in the same way. We are playing a match in a competition and we must work as one team to achieve victory,” he said.
Dempo coach will also certainly push the players to gain victory and momentum.
"Our players are ready to put up a good show and I have confidence in their abilities to provide what is required and always achieve the best for Dempo,” Naik added.
He is relying on his defender Mohamed Ali, Sanwil D'Costa, Ariston D'Costa while Vasim Inamdar, Shubham Rawat and Basanta Singh are on the offense side.
Dempo are placed fifth with 4 points and have one postponed match from 3 matches while Kenkre FC are on seventh spot with 3 points.
