Goa's Purvi Ritesh Naik put up a brilliant performance to bag four medals - one gold, two silver and one bronze at the recently held 40th Sub-junior National Aquatic Championship in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha.
Eleven-year-old Purvi, who hails from Sanquelim, emerged as the fastest female swimmer of the meet in the sub-junior category when she won the gold in 50m freestyle with a timing of 30.70 seconds ahead of established swimmers from Karnataka and Maharashtra.
Purvi, a student of Mushtifund High School, Cujira, also bagged two silver medals in 100m freestyle and 400m freestyle with a timing of 1:07.23 minutes and 5:04.22 minutes, respectively. She also won a bronze in 200m freestyle with a timing of 2:30.62 minutes.
Purvi trains at the Campal swimming pool under former India international swimmer TA Sujith as part of the Khelo India State Centre for Excellence.
