Red Bull of Telaulim defeated St Cross Boys of Davorlim 4-3 via the tiebreaker to emerge champions of the Uprising Trophy inter-ward football tournament organized by Uprising Boys of Telaulim at Govt School playground, Telaulim.
Both the teams were tied goalless in the normal time on Sunday. In the ensuing tiebreaker, Red Bull Telaulim proved to be the better shooters. The winners and runners-up were given Rs 20,000 and 15,000 respectively besides trophies.
Fr Valentine Alvarej “ Chaplin of OL of Mount Carmel Chaped was the chief guest and handed over the prizes in the presence of Laxmikant Kattimani, Climax Lawrence, Micky Rebello, Anthony Pereira, George Barreto, Costa Paul Rodrigues and Sukhdeo Arwade.
Individual prizes: Best forward “ Adarsh (Red Bull Telaulim), Best defender “ Venito (St Cross Boys Davorlim), First goal of the final “ Noah Luis (Red Bulls Telaulim), Promising player “ Velroy Colaco (St Cross Davorlim), Best midfielder “ Veluston Costa (St Cross Davorlim), Best goalkeeper “ Katappa (Red Bull Telaulim).
