Goa girls' team showcased their mettle to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the 29th Sub Junior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship in Kalol, Gujarat.
In the quarter-final clash against Tamil Nadu on Sunday, Goa delivered a dominant performance, restricting their opponents to 27/5 in 6 overs with exceptional bowling efforts, notably by Pratiksha Kerkar. Goa then confidently chased down the target, scoring 28/3 in just 2.3 overs to complete a commanding 7-wicket win.
Earlier on the second day of the tournament, Goa girls faced off against Uttarakhand, who batted first to post a total of 24/4 in 6 overs. In response, Goa chased down the target with ease, scoring 25/2 in just 2.1 overs, led by Pratiksha Kerkar (13).
In their second match, Goa took on Purvanchal in a closely contested battle. Purvanchal set a target of 44/5 in 6 overs, with Purva Gaude (18/2) and Tanisha Velip (4/1) leading the bowling attack for Goa. In a thrilling chase, Goa matched the target, scoring 44/7 in 6 overs to secure a tie, with contributions from Purva Gaude, Tanisha Velip, and Mausam Kapoor.
Meanwhile, Goa's boys clashed with Uttarakhand in a high-scoring affair. Uttarakhand posted a formidable total of 44/6 in 8 overs. In response, Goa chased down the target, scoring 48/7 in 8 overs, anchored by Saiesh Naik and Viraj Tari.
