St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, secured a narrow 1-0 victory over SV’s Sridora Caculo College of Commerce & Management Studies, Mapusa in the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Football Championship at Goa University ground on Monday.

The first half ended scoreless, with both teams showcasing strong offensive and defensive strategies. However, in the 49th minute of the second half, Shaviz Khan capitalized on a goalkeeper error to net the match's only goal.

In the second match, Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi, delivered a commanding performance against Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao, winning 4-1. The first half was particularly thrilling, featuring three goals: Shanon Vaz opened the scoring in the 5th minute, followed by goals from Selwyn Fernando in the 8th minute and Ketan Khandeparkar in the 19th minute. DM’s College found the net with a goal from Anuj Goud in the 32nd minute, giving them a glimmer of hope. However, Goa College of Engineering added a final goal in the 50th minute, scored by Aryan Carvalho, solidifying their victory.

The first match at Rosary Ground saw Vidya Prabodhini College of Commerce, Education, Computer and Management, Porvorim, edge out S.S.A’s Government College of Arts & Commerce, Pernem, with a score of 1-0. The decisive goal came in the 17th minute, and despite both teams' efforts, the second half ended without any additional scoring.

In the second match, Dhempe College of Arts & Science, Miramar, triumphed over St. Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim-Murmagao, with a convincing 3-0 victory. All three goals were scored in the first half, withShashank Kenkre finding the net twice in the 5th and 31st minutes, and Aditya Balekar contributing a goal in the 9th minute. The second half saw no further scoring, sealing Dhempe College’s win.
