Vidya Vikas Margao girls fought hard to beat St Jude Betalbatim 2-1 to enter into the quarter-finals of the Sir Jawaharlal Da Costa Under 14 Inter-School Football Tournament organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim in collaboration with The Base Goa and played at the Base Seraulim. Vidya Vikas scored through Lissa Pereira and Lillian Rodrigues.
Aachal Paswan reduced the margin for St Jude Betalbatim. In the other match, Manovikas HS Margao made their entry into the quarters after they drew 2-2 against Presentation Convent HS. Manovikas scored a brace through Valusha Gonsalves and Presentation Convent levelled through Angel Fernandes and a self-goal.
Meanwhile, in the boys' category, Holy Cross Cavelossim beat St Thomas HS Cansaulim 2-1. Holy Cross scored through Jason Pereira and Dalston Fernandes. St Thomas equalised through Joylan D'Costa.
Manovikas HS Margao beat St Francis Xavier Macazana 5-0. Manovikas scored a brace through Yohann Souza while Vardan Pathania and Logham D'Souza scored a goal each. A self-goal from the opposition increased the scoreline to 5-0.
St Jude Betalbatim beat St Anthony's HS Majorda 3-1. Star striker Miluerd D'Costa scored a brilliant hattrick for St Jude while Subba Samarpan pulled one back for St Anthony.
St Aloysius Benaulim drew against Holy Cross Cavelossim 1-1. St Aloysius scored through Caydan Rodrigues whereas Arun Chavan equalised for Holy Cross.
