Yet again a frenzied level of interest is being demonstrated in social media and especially in groups on social media app Whatsapp on the imminent likelihood of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant effecting a cabinet reshuffle to accommodate the unaccommodated legislators from the group of eight who switched allegiance from the Congress.
The renewed buzz over a cabinet reshuffle was triggered by Sawant's own assertion in a section of the media that it will happen before the elections in Karnataka which are scheduled to be held on May 10.Fickle is the logic of netizens on social media, a majority of who have been itching to lap up gossip around the likely cabinet reshuffle. Who will be inducted? Who will be dropped? Will the heavyweight trio -- Digambar Kamat, Aleixo Sequeira and Michael Lobo -- who are yet to get their reward for their brash and brazen floor-crossing last year?
Not very long ago, the same netizens flooded social media with memes, wisecracks and an outpouring of loud criticism of these very group of eight MLAs who ditched the Congress to join the ruling BJP. Posts with videos of their pre-election pledges at religious sites promising not to do what they did, went viral almost on a daily basis for weeks.
Now, mostly the same bunch of politically enthusiastic netizens are rooting for a cabinet reshuffle to accommodate the same guys who were the butts of their jokes.
Indeed, 'Goa ke log ajeeb hai' , Chacha-ji!
