CM sets September 30 as Lokayukta deadline

The Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said that Lokayukta in Goa would be appointed by September 30, 2012.

The Chief Minister was responding to media queries afterattending a cabinet meeting on Wednesday in Porvorim. The Bharatiya JanataParty, in its election manifesto, has announced that Lokayukta will beappointed after 100 days if the BJP government comes to the power. The CM hadbeen blamed for failing to keep his word.

Number of casinos dropping in Goa

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday said that the number of casinos has come down after the BJP-led government has come into power in Goa and increased the annual renewal and license fees.
