A triple strike by Aaron Barreto, Cleine Da Costa and Levy Pereira enabled Salgaocar FC hammer Kevnem SC 13-0 in a GFA U-16 league match played at Seraulim grounds on Tuesday. They led 10-0 at the breather.

The floodgates opened as early as the third minute when Levy hammered home after a lay off by Flan Gomes. Flan had initially received the ball from Riston Colaco from the right. Two minutes later, the Greens were two to the good as Cleine smashed home a volley displaying fantastic technique to keep the ball down after a corner taken by Antonio Dylan was only headed out as far as him. And a couple of minutes later, it was to be three as Levy scored his second of the evening after being fed by Frezer Gomes in the box.

Shortly after Cleine scored his second of the evening after being fed by Aaron Barreto in the box and in the blink of an eye it was 5-0 as Aaron Barreto found the back of the net for the first time in the evening.

Aaron scored his second and third goal in quick succession. The first after using his height to control a cross from Riston Colaco before drilling home. The Greens then chose to play possession football for the next few minutes and strung together in excess of 40 passes without allowing their opponents to get hold of the ball. Skipper Ribhav Sardesai who marshalled the midfield superbly found Aaron on the right who drove into the box, cut past two defenders and hammered home to complete a fine hat-trick.

It was then the turn of Levy Pereira to complete his hat-trick as he drilled his shot low into the bottom corner from outside the box after receiving a pass from Frezer. The provider then turned scored as Frezer hit past a host of defender after Ribhav had displayed great close ball control inside the box. The tenth and last goal of the half saw Cleine complete his hat-trick as a short corner taken by Dylan to Ribhav saw the latter whip the ball in, for the Kevnem defense to clear only as far as Cleine on the edge of the box who let fly, finding the back of the net.

After the change of ends, the Salgaocar lads moved the ball from end to end and displayed great composure keeping possession of the ball for long spells. They did score early in the second half. However, through substitute Sheldon Pereira off a cross from Cleine from the right. Sheldon calmly finished with his left past a diving keeper. Dylan then smashed one from inside the box having collected the ball from Levy. The keeper was unable to collect cleanly and Avner Barreto was at hand to tap home. With five minutes of play left, Levy was given the marching orders for his second bookable offense of the evening, reducing the Greens to 10 men. In the dying minutes of play Dylan had a crack at goal which was initially saved by the keeper but to his misfortune saw his own defender Shadi Sureja who was following up to score into his own net to complete the rout.
