Realisation has dawned on the tech trioka of Musk, Altman, and Dario, that AI is putting the human race at risk. The stage is set for the race between humans and robots. The question arises: What will destroy humans first, climate change or AI? The existential race is on. And only humans are responsible for this. Fortunately, a consensus has emerged among the tech trioka on the need to press the pause button on AI. Anthropic's Dario Amodei was the first off the blocks. On September 12, he wrote in a long essay: "We must slow the pace...."As if on cue, Elon Musk immediately chipped in saying "Dario is right ...... ". Then within 2 hours Sam Altman, OpenAI boss signalled his endorsement of Dario's assertions. It is heartening to note that all three are finally on the same page. They have realised that during the course of the race they may win many laurels in fame and fortune but at the finishing line stands a high precipice.
