Thousands of devotees are attending the novenas of Venerable Fr Agnelo D'Souza at Pilar to mark his 90th death anniversary leading to the feast on November 20.
Ven Fr Agnelo is a miracle away from beatification. It is understood that at one of the novena masses it was announced that a child was miraculously cured from a critical, life-threatening condition. The favour was reportedly granted to the child as a result of intercession of Ven Fr Agnelo D'Souza after fervent prayers for a miracle.
The authorities associated with the cause of Ven Fr Agnelo's sainthood needs to pursue the matter for the beatification by following the necessary procedure if the miraculous cure of the child from near death has been proved to be as a result of the prayer and cannot be explained medically and will stand the test of time. This is indeed a matter of joy for the numerous devotees as the process of beatification of Ven Fr Agnelo could commence sooner than latter which will bring him closer to sainthood.
