It is a general practice for the department of posts to mention ‘clearance timing’ on letter-boxes installed at different locations. However, some letter boxes do not carry this timing. Under such circumstances, customers remain in the dark and are unable to judge as to when their letters would reach the concerned destinations. Hence, they face great inconvenience in the process.
To cite an instance, the letter-box at the post office of Queula branch (in Ponda) does not carry clearance timing. What is worst still is that the lock of this letter-box is found open for the past four months. Postal authorities need to take a serious view of above matters.
Clearance timing must be mentioned on this letter box on priority basis. Similarly, the defective lock should also be replaced with a new one so that letters dropped remain safe.
