The stray cattle menace is not restricted to major cities and towns, but exists in villages as well. The villages of Adpai and Durbhat in Ponda are no exception to this growing menace. At Adpai, stray cattle proceed along the road during the day causing inconvenience. And during the night, they can be found squatting on the road adjacent to the village panchayat of Durbhat. As a result, employees returning home from night duty remain the worst sufferers. Seen in the picture are cattle occupying the road at Dessai-Bhat in Adpai. Similarly, at Durbhat too, stray cattle can be found along the road on many occasions. The menace needs to be dealt with a firm hand. I request the Directorate of Panchayats to issue necessary instructions to the VP for prompt installation of cattle sheds and subsequent impounding of cattle.
