Fraudster wanted in Belagavi held at Merces

The Old Goa police in a joint operation with Belagavi, Hukeri Circle police, caught long absconding accused Mahesh Parasappa Gudli (34) native of Jamkhandi-Bagalkot.
The accused Gudli was wanted by the Belagavi police in connection with cheating of a person to the tune of Rs 13 lakh with a case registered against him under sections 420 and 406 IPC.
The accused, suspected to have cheated others in Karnataka and Goa for a large amount of Rs 80 lakh, was avoiding arrest by changing his location since September 2022 in Karnataka and then shifted to Goa.
Upon information about his movement in Goa, Karnataka police contacted Old Goa police wherein the joint operation began and the accused was caught at Shantaban, Merces on Friday.

ESI hospital death: Doctors conduct autopsy

MARGAOA panel of doctors, two from the Goa Medical College and as many doctors from the South Goa district hospital on Friday conducted an autopsy on the body of the 50-year-old woman, who had died at the ESI hospital two days ago. The post-mortem examination was conducted after the family members had suspected negligence behind the death of the deceased. As per the laid down guidelines, the autopsy was video filmed.
