PANAJI: A social heritage evening, commemorating Goa’s Opinion Poll and the feast of St Joseph Vaz, will take place on January 16 at “Vivenda De Rebellos” Heritage Home, Cuncolim, starting at 6:00 pm. Paulo Gomes, Director of Fundacao Oriente, Panaji, will be the Chief Guest. Goa’s Fado Queen and Nightingale, Sonia Sirsat, will be felicitated for her contribution to Goa’s song and culture. Prof. Prajal Sakhardhande, Historian, and Academician, will speak on the History of the Opinion Poll of 1967. Additionally, a Konkani skit titled “Solla Janer” by Prof. Sandra Pereira will be staged.
Live entertainment, featuring music by Brito and other musicians, will be followed by dinner and drinks, courtesy of the hosts’ hospitality. The evening will also include “Informal conversations during dinner time on Goan Socio-cultural matters” by various famous personalities from Goa. Furthermore, the evening will pay tribute to Goa’s unique shell windows with the launch of shell windows at Vivenda do Rebellos. Kevin Rebello and family are hosting the Heritage evening.
