Sanquelim forms under the North Goa cluster of Councilswhich developed under the tutelage of the Rane’s. The Sanquelim Council will becompleting its full five year tenure by February 2013.
The town has witnessed overall development with majorprojects like Ravindra Bhawan and government hospital having been completed butyet to be operational.
Sewerage treatment plant is underway and is almost completedas only 20% of work is left. The municipality under golden jubilee fund hasdecided to take up a project of community hall.
Chairperson of Sanquelim Municipality, Rizah Khan said: “Thecouncil was given a grant of Rs 1 crore under which it was decided to take workon community hall whose tender process is completed . Work will begin soon”.
