Santosh Mavlankar was on Thursday elected as the new sarpanch of Varkhand panchayat. The post had fallen vacant following the resignation of Sanjay Tulaskar in a mutual agreement with fellow panchas.
Mavlankar is expected to serve for only two months as all panchayats in the State will go to polls by early June.
"I will try my best to develop the village with the support of the government and fellow panchas," said Mavlankar.
