The 46th Installation Ceremony of the Lions Club of Alem De Margao was held on July 8 at Daivadnya Bhavan, Margao. Aditi Korgaonkar, an Architect from Margao assumed the Presidency for the year 2023-24. Minister for Social Welfare Subhash Phaldesai was the Chief Guest of the function. While addressing the gathering Phaldesai emphasised the need for social commitment by the professionals towards society. He lauded the efforts of various Lions Clubs in serving the society. In her inaugural address as president of the Club, Aditi Korgaonkar stressed on the need to involve young minds in the organisation building. Post-Covid situation has created social handicaps and only through collective efforts we can rebuild society, she said. She stressed on how youth has become vulnerable to the situations of pandemic in education and training. She emphasised that under her leadership activities strengthening youth will be the priority.
