The Archdiocesan Board of Education (ABE) celebrated “All Goa Catholic Educational Institutions’ Day” on March 3 at St Joseph Vaz Spiritual Renewal Centre, Old Goa. This year’s theme was “Jesus, true educator, stay with us!”
Fr Felix Fernandes, Provincial of Salesians of Don Bosco, Konkan Province was the chief guest while Rev Filipe Neri Ferrao, Archbishop Patriarch of Goa and Daman presided over the function.
Faculties of ABE Institutes across Goa were felicitated on the occasion for their dedicated service of more than 30 years in the educational field with a memento and a certificate at the hands of the Chief Guest and the Archbishop.
In his address, Archbishop Ferrao said, “A teacher is the one who works tirelessly, with optimism without expecting any fruit in return.”
Addressing the gathering, Fr Fernandes expressed his gratitude and thanked all the teachers for dedicatedly inculcating the moral values and ethics to the students of ABE for the period of more than three decades.
“Syllabus outlined to be taught in ABE gives lasting values and teaches ethical ways of life to the young ones,” he added.
