Haemophilia Society Goa’s awareness campaign

PANAJI
As a part of the awareness about a lifelong bleeding disorder that prevents blood from clotting properly, the Haemophilia Society Goa’s Women’s Group conducted a sanitary napkins distribution program in Porvorim and also distributed Anti Haemophiliac Factors (AHF) to the male patients from all over Goa registered in the society. These factors otherwise cost anywhere between Rs 45,000 to Rs two lakh and are the only treatment option available today for those suffering from Haemophilia which is caused due to deficiency of clotting factors in the blood.

“Our main objective is to rehabilitate Haemophiliacs and make factors available free of cost which are otherwise very expensive and beyond the reach of the common man. Our motto is to improve the quality of life of children and adults with Haemophilia and other bleeding disorders,” stated Prasad Arolkar, president, Hemophilia Society Goa, a non-profitable organisation that works as a support system to those suffering from this disorder in the State.
