Konkani Natak Sangeet Academy, Goa will organise a first-of-its-kind 'Konkani Videography Festival & Award Ceremony' on June at Margao's Ravindra Bhavan. The song videography festival will be held in 'Bhav Geet' and 'Bhakti Geet' categories. Former MLA and ex-chairman of Ravindra Bhavan, Damu Naik, who is a Konkani filmmaker himself, will be the chief guest at the event while current Ravindra Bhavan chairman, Rajendra Talak will be the guest of honour and veteran tiatr artiste C D'Silva will be a special invitee. All the Konkani song videos entered for the contest will be screened from 3 pm onwards and an expert jury will judge them. Awards will be at stake for best production, lyrics, singing, acting, cine videography, music direction and performance among others. A panel of judges will select only 3 nominees in both categories and the Academy hopes to bring together and encourage Konkani artistes, besides creating a grand collection of musical productions through this event. The collection will be preserved and will serve as a treasure trove which can be used as reference material by future artists and researchers, the Konkani Natak Sangeet Academy said, adding that it has already received wide response from the artiste community as 70 entries have already come in.
