MARGAO: Poitomado, Cuncolim thrashed CACSS, Cansaulim 9-1 to enter the quarter final of the 2nd Fr Bruno Leitao Memorial Cup 2024, organized by Union of Chinchinim Villagers, at Chinchinim Church ground, on Thursday.
Poitomado Cuncolim scored in the very first minute goal when Daulat Dessai tapped the rebound ball off the diving Cansaulim goalkeeper to open the account. Poitomado kept on attacking and in the sixth minute, Dailon Carvalho scored with a neat finish to make it 2-0 for Poitomado Cuncolim. Jollyton Fernandes, Mathew Fernandes and Trijoy Dias also added their name on the score sheet by scoring in the 16th, 18th and 19th minutes respectively to make it 5-0 for Poitomado Cuncolim.
Cansaulim tried hard to come back in the game but the attempts was thwarted by Poitomado goalkeeper Alrico.
In the 22nd minute, Regan Soares scored for Cansaulim to reduce the margin to 5-1.
At the half time the score remained 5-1 in favour of Poitomado Cuncolim.
In the second half, Poitomado Cuncolim players were all over Cansaulim area where in Daulat Dessai scored his second goal. Bradly Carvalho, Vayne Pires, Alister Fernandes added their names to the scoresheet to take the final score to 9-1.
The player of the match was awarded to Daulat Dessai by Joycie Rebello, Panch member Village Panchayat Chinchinim-Deussua.
