Following orders from the Bombay High Court at Goa, the Goa government, through the North Goa Collector has decreed that “any person coming from outside Goa... shall be checked for the full vaccination certificate or Covid-negative test report for a test done within 72 hours of entry into Goa.”
The orders issued, however, exempt residents of Goa who can produce proof of residence, people entering Goa for work, on production of Work ID or a letter from his or her employer and those entering Goa for a medical emergency on production of proof or those who come via ambulance.
The Collectors have already issued orders prohibiting the interstate movement of tourists unless they can show proof of vaccination or proof of having tested negative 72 hours prior.
The Bombay High Court at Goa had asked the Goa government to insist that people entering the state be asked to produce a Covid-19 negative certificate that has been issued 72-hours prior from next week onwards saying there was “no justification in the State of Goanot insisting upon a negativity certificate from persons who seek entry into Goa at this crucial juncture.”
