After seeking permission and getting approval for an extended 5-minute halt, Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar failed to turn-up at the Canacona KRC Station to flag-off the resumed halt of the Trivandrum-bound Netravati Express late Sunday night.
Interestingly, Tawadkar had sought permission from the Regional Traffic Manager (KRC) Karwar Region, to allow him five minutes to flag-off the Netravati Express (16345) bound for Trivandrum at about 11.30 pm on Sunday.
According to the Station Master at the Canacona KRC Station, permission was granted to allow extended halt/stoppage of 5 minutes to the LTT-Trivandrum Netravati Express (16345) on Sunday late night to hold a brief flag-off function by the Speaker.
“We got permission for the extended halt and were expecting the arrival of the Speaker to flag-off the Trivandrum-bound Netravati Express Train. However, neither the Speaker nor anyone from the Speaker’s office turned up and a green flag was shown to the train to proceed after its scheduled halt of 2 minutes at about 11.32 PM on Sunday night at Canacona KRC Station,” the station master said.
Early Monday morning, the Mumbai-bound Netravati Express (16346) also had its 2-minute halt at Canacona railway station at 3.55 am.
Meanwhile, the weekly Gandhidham-Nagercoil Express will resume its 2-minute halt at Canacona Station on Wednesday (April 5) en route to Nagercoil (16335) and on Good Friday (April 7) en route to Gandhidham (16336), both at about 10.30 am.
