Goans visiting Belagavi will now have a delightful and mouth-watering weekend as Annotsava, an annual event by Rotary Club of Belgaum will be held from Saturday.
The 10-day food festival, which is being held after a long gap of 2 years due to the Covid pandemic, will be inaugurated Saturday evening opposite Angadi Institute of Technology and Management on Savgaon Road and will be held till January 15.
Belagavi MP Mangala Angadi will inaugurate the festival in presence of eminent personalities and Rotary Club members from Belagavi and Goa.
Belagavi is experiencing very cool and salubrious weather these days and Goans visiting Belagavi this weekend or over the next 10 days will have one more reason to enjoy their trip to the green city.
“Over 200 stalls spread across the sprawling venue will be catering to the mouth-watering varieties from the culinary to tantalise the taste buds of the gourmets. A variety of food items in vegetarian, non-vegetarian delicacies will be available. Moreover, there is ample parking space to park about 1,000 vehicles while free bus services have been also organised from the railway station. The proceeds will go for schools, health services and other charitable cause,” Rotarian Parag Bhandare said.
Apart from this to make the evenings more entertaining, a huge stage with excellent illumination and sound system has been erected with 1700 sq ft LED screen where celebrity singers and noted artistes from across the region would be entertaining the visitors.
Annotsav by Rotary Club has come a long way since 1997 and has become a major attraction among people of Belagavi and Goa region, barring two Covid marred years.
“The Annotsav is going to be a great opportunity and reason for Goans to specially visit Belagavi city,” Rotarian Jaideep Siddannavar said.
