After the Supreme Court’s board of matters deleted the ongoing hearing into Mhadei dispute despite listing it earlier on Wednesday, the Goa Forward Party (GFP) once again took a potshot at the State government for working against the interest of his State.GFP President Vijai Sardesai charged the Pramod Sawant-led government with conspiracy to derail the Mhadei hearing as he referred to The Goan’s news article published on Thursday that the matter was deleted from the list late Wednesday night.
“I had a strong doubt that the case will be taken up for further hearing on Thursday. We were looking forward to the case hoping that at least this time Goa’s legal team will stand up to mention its urgent hearing. Within a few hours, my doubts were confirmed with the news that this case will not be heard on Thursday,” the Fatorda MLA said.
He also posted the news article on Twitter and dared the CM to prove him and all those who suspect connivance against Goa, wrong.
Sardesai called out to the government that the conspiracy to deny justice to Goa is an ongoing process and that Goa CM wanted the Opposition parties “to be with him to be part of the eyewash to fool Goemkars” while referring to the all-party meeting called by CM Sawant on January 2.
“This is strong evidence that the Goa Chief minister and his government are working against the interests of the state. Will @BJP4Goa leaders and trolls comment on this predictable development? Or stay silent? Justice delayed is Justice denied”, he tweeted.
In his third tweet, Sardesai posted another news article by The Goan about Karnataka BJP using Mhadei victory in their assembly poll campaign. “All this whilst @BJP4Karnataka claims ‘victory’ on Mhadei and Goa CM admits they have already diverted the water!”, he tweeted.
The GFP went on to state that in January 2022, CM had conceded that a certain amount of the Mhadei water had been diverted, even when the case with Karnataka over sharing the river water was pending before the apex court.
