12 held for sand extraction
PERNEM: Twelve labourers from UP were arrested after Mines and Geology officials raided a sand extraction site in the Tiracol river at Kiranpani-Palyem on Friday.
According to Pernem police, the labourers were detained by officials of Mines and Geology department and were later handed over to the Pernem police.
The 12 labourers were arrested under Section 49 IPC and were later released on a personal bond, after being produced in court.
