When The Goan asked Superintendent of Police, South, Shekar Prabhudesai to shed light on why action is not initiated against the two Police Sub-Inspectors, the district police chief has said that the police has forwarded a report to the higher-ups for necessary action against the two PSIs.
The police had earlier suspended a lone policeman in connection with the case, throwing up questions whether the men-in-uniform had tried to hush up the matter by suspending only one policeman while leaving the remaining personnel scot-free.
Meanwhile, the victim boys narrated their over five-hour long ordeal at the Maina-Curtoirm police station from late Saturday night to the wee hours of Sunday involving as many as five policemen, including the two PSIs.
Not only the victims have claimed they were subjected to police brutality, but they were forced to undress and expose their private parts to each other. One of the victims claimed they were taken to the police barracks and assaulted all over their bodies. “We were told to undress and hold the private parts in our mouths. We are still passing through the trauma we were subjected by these policemen,” he said.
Saying that the policemen were all in an inebriated condition, a victim boy said, “They seemed to have derived sadistic pleasure after seeing us undressed. They even filmed us when we were forced into a sexual act by holding each other’s private parts.”
