“Since all these three ambulances are handed over to the 108 ambulance network, chances are they are sent by the 108 administration to different places to attend to patients. If these three ambulances are kept at the disposal of the district hospital for its exclusive use, we should not have any shortage of ambulance any more,” remarked a doctor.

Hospicio South Goa district hospital has got two ambulances on Thursday even as Health Minister Vishwajit Rane mooted a proposal to merge government-run ambulances with the 108 ambulance network.
While the South Goa district hospital has now three ambulances at its disposal, including the state-of-the-art ambulance provided by South Goa MP Viriato Fernandes under the MPLAD scheme, hospital doctors hoped that these three dedicated ambulances remain at the disposal of the district hospital at all time to transport patients from the district hospital to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
