25 migrant workers hospitalised, isolated in South district hospital

With around 20-25 migrant workers affected by acute diarrhea caused by cholera admitted in the South Goa District Hospital, health officials informed that the workers are isolated so that the infection does not spread to the healthcare workers and other patients.

State Epidemiologist Dr Utkarsh Betodkar informed that the patients have been provided with soap and other items so that they maintain hygiene. 

“Affected workers undergoing treatment at the hospital have been isolated in the male medicine ward. We have provided these workers basic hygiene facilities to ensure the infection does not spread,” he said.

District hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Rajendra Borkar said the migrant workers are being provided with items to maintain their hygiene.
