With the number of cases of acute diarrhea caused by cholera showed no signs of decline, a joint inspection of the Cutbona fishing jetty has been fixed on Friday morning.
In the notice issued on Thursday, Deputy Collector, Margao, Ganesh Barve has asked representatives of a host of government departments to remain present at the Cubona fishing jetty at 11 am on September 6 so as to ensure a comprehensive review and effective action plan.
Notices of the joint inspection have been sent to the SDPO, Margao, Salcete Mamlatdar, Health Centre, Velim, Velim Sarpanch, Salcete Block Development Officer, Balli Primary health officer, Deputy Labour Commissioner, FDA, Superintendent of Fisheries, Cuncolim police station in-charge, Velim village Talathi, besides GOACAN coordinator Roland Martins, and the convenor of the Velim Civic and Consumer Forum.
