According to Porvorim Police, a businessman Manas Jogi Jena (32) from Alto Bela Vista, Sangolda, complained that on February 28 at about 3.30 pm, he along with his friend Madhav Sahu was travelling on his Maestro scooter to Panaji.
The complainant further stated that the three accused persons restrained him and his friend near Dominos Pizza shop and kidnapped them in a Maruti Zen car (GA-01-S-8026) and took them towards Panaji. The accused assaulted them and exhorted cash of Rs 6,500 from him and Rs 3,500 from Mhadav Sahu.
Acting on the complaint, Porvorim Police swung into action and succeeded in attaching the Maruti Zen car, which was used in committing the crime. The car was parked near Goa Historical Centre, Torda junction.
Porvorim Police are in search of the accused and his two associates. Police have registered an offence against the accused under Sections 341, 363, 323,384 read with 34 of IPC. Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi is investigating the case.
