The autopsy report has confirmed that Rajesh had died due to poisoning, sources told The Goan.

According to reports, a worker noticed the body of Rajesh, who was acquitted in the Sameer Mapari murder case a few years ago, lying in his private farmhouse at Soliem-Cacora at about 8 am on Thursday.

The worker reported the matter to Rajesh\'s family and police team later visited the farmhouse and conducted the panchanama.

When contacted, the locals informed that Rajesh had been frequently staying at his private farmhouse at Soliem for the last four months.

Speaking to the media, DySP Sammy Tawares said they got information on Thursday morning and police rushed to the spot and conducted the panchanama. “No scratches or injuries were found on the body which has been sent for post-mortem,” he added.

Sources at Curchorem police station informed that the post-mortem report states the cause of death was due to oral poisoning.

Curchorem Police have registered unnatural death and PSI Ashish Parab is investigating the case.

It may be recalled that on August 8, 2007, the body of Sameer Mapari was fished out from the Zuari river at Shiroda and Rajesh along with two others had been arrested in the connection.

Later, the Margao district and sessions court acquitted Rajesh Dessai and two others in the case.
