3 temples burgled in Kundaim, cash and jewellery stolen

Burglars targeted three temples in Kundaim area on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday and decamped with jewellery worth `82,000 and two donation boxes, which had cash of about `2600.

Ponda Police informed that Shree Ravalnath Temple, Shree Mahadev Ganpati and Shree Betall Temple were burgled by the burglars.   
Donation boxes and jewellery were burgled by breaking into the temples, which were located in the same vicinity, informed the police.   
The golden eyes (jewellery) of Shree Ravalnath lord, worth `82,000 were stolen, while donation boxes from other two temples were lifted by the burglars and were thrown in nearby areas after breaking them.   
Locals informed that other two temples of Shree Grampurush Adhinath and Shree Navdurga Devasthan were also attempted, but the burglars couldn’t barge into it. 
However, the police are tight lipped over these two temples thefts.   
No sooner did the locals informed Ponda Police, DySP Sunita Sawant and Police Inspector Sudesh Naik reached the spot and investigated the matter for long hours. They couldn’t get any lead from sniffer dogs. 
Ponda Police is investigating the case.

‘only huts on comunidade land will be demolished’

Residents of Sangolda who have been campaigning for the demolition of huts built illegally on comunidade land in the village, have denied that the huts to be demolished are those which belong to the 20-point programme of the village and have said that it is beyond that.
