Stink raised over sewage discharge

Issues relating to sanitation and a playground figured prominently at the Rumdamol Panchayat Gram Sabha 
on Sunday.
The Gram Sabha chaired by Sarpanch Pooja B saw members highlighting the burning issue of households discharging sewage from their septic tanks into the storm water drains. While questioning the indifference of the panchayat towards the nuisance, members expressed fears that the situation may pose a health hazard if there is no check. Members demanded that the panchayat issue notices to those who have connected their households to the storm water drains. The meeting also saw members demanding immediate repairs of the village playground, saying the youth are being deprived of sporting 
activities. Members demanded that the panchayat should take up the issue on top-most priority and restore the condition of the ground at 
the earliest.

MARGAO The Rachol Gram Sabha on Sunday accorded its approval for the annual budget estimates for the financial year 2016-17 pegged at around Rs 55.33 lakh.Sarpanch Joseph Vaz said the panchayat is expecting funds to the tune of Rs 45 lakh from the Tribal Welfare Department for implementation of schemes under the Gram Sansad Yojana. The Sarpanch informed that projects such as protective wall, roads and other infrastructure are proposed for the village under the…
