39 more fake notes found

Police found another 39 counterfeit currency notes of Rs 500 denomination amounting to Rs 19,500 in possession of the two accused arrested on Friday last week. Investigations into the fake currency case led the police to a Calangute-based hotel room the two accused had rented, from where the remaining fake currency notes were confiscated. The accused are yet to reveal the source of the fake currency, police said. It may be recalled the two accused were arrested for possessing fake currency worth Rs 5000 on Friday. Both the accused, Shridhar Nathnora and Ragvindr Mugre, are residents of Hubli. The accused were placed under arrest and remanded to five days police custody. Calangute Police is investigating further.
