Elaborate security arrangements in place for PM’s visit

CANACONA: Elaborate arrangements have been set up in South Goa, and Canacona in particular, for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the revered Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevotam Math at Partagali-Canacona on Friday.

The prime minister will arrive at Dabolim airport, where he and his entourage will be transported in three helicopters to the newly built-in helipads near the Partagali Math.

Since the helipads are within 500 mtrs distance, the prime minister and his entourage will be transported directly to the Math, where the prime minister will make a brief visit to the Math, and take Darshan at the two main deities/temples of Lord Shree Ramdev and Lord Veer Vittal in the Math premises.

The prime minister is later scheduled to unveil a 77-foot bronze statue of Prabhu Shri Ram, and inaugurate a 3D Projection Mapping Project set up at the Ramayana Theme Park within a short distance of Partagal Math precincts. The PM is also scheduled to address devotees on the occasion.

Besides, prohibiting aerial photography, videography and flying of any Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) at a 2-km radius of Partagali Math and the entire route of the Prime Minister and his entourage from Dabolim Airport to Partagali Math, authorities will allow vehicles only about 125 cars with VVIP vehicle passes to park at the Northern side of Partagali Math, which is closest to the Math premises.

Parking arrangements for the VIP cars with VIP vehicles passes have been made a few kilometres away at Parshuram Temple, Poinguinim, while the rest of the vehicles (cars and buses) have been allotted parking places about 5 kms away from the Math to avoid any traffic congestion and hazards.

Police security armed with drone cameras and other equipment is presently camping at the Math area.

While the authorities are prepared with security arrangements, it is learnt that the All Sardha Panchashatamanotsava organising and celebration committee led by its president Shrinivas V Shenvi Dempo, also completed all preparatory works by Thursday.

The Math has constructed over 650 accommodations for its guests and devotees coming from far and wide, besides providing elaborate arrangements for food and refreshments.
