The road leading to Saleli village in Honda Panchayat has been waiting for a hotmix since Liberation and the seven-decade wait has finally ended with Poriem MLA Deviya Rane launching the work to hotmix the road.
Rane had submitted a proposal to the government to get the road at Saleli hotmixed and PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral granted approval to the work.
Those present on the occasion included Honda ZP member Sagun Wadkar, Sarpanch Shivdas Madkar, Dy Sarpanch Resham Gaonkar, Panchas Smita Mote, Sushant Rane, Krishna Gaonkar, PWD Assistant Engineer Velingkar, Junior Engineer Chandan Naik, and others.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Deviya Rane said the development of this village had been stalled on account of different issues but assured that various facilities and employment opportunities would be provided in the village.
“Development will be promoted in the village and facilities like repair and hotmixing of roads, better water supply and repair of the Anganwadi building will be taken up,” said Rane.
Stating that Saleli village had been deprived of development in the past, Honda Deputy Sarpanch Resham Gaonkar said people had elected them in the panchayat elections so that they can take up development works in the village.
