Occupants in a car had a lucky escape when the vehicle went off the road at Dapot-Maxem in Canacona on Thursday.
According to sources, the car from Ponda was heading towards Udupi-Karnataka, when the driver lost control and the vehicle went down a steep turn at Dapot-Maxem and after breaking about 3-4 wooden poles, came to a halt over an abandoned pipe.
According to locals, this is the 7th accident at the site due to the steep turn and people have demanded either a speed limit or speed breaker to prevent further mishaps in the area.
