AAP can fulfil Parrikar’s vision for Goa: Sisodia

AAP can fulfil Parrikar’s vision for Goa: Sisodia Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia addresses Aam Aadmi Party volunteers in Panaji on Sunday.

PANAJI

Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia on Sunday stressed the need to take forward late Manohar Parrikar’s vision for Goa saying the BJP had systematically buried his concept and  sidelined those who aligned with it.

Addressing party workers, Sisodia also discussed the roadmap for the ensuing Assembly elections in the State.

“People say Parrikar bab was the founder of development in Goa. But after Parrikar’s death, BJP buried the vision of development for Goa and sidelined people who were aligned with it. I urge BJP volunteers in Goa to leave BJP, as it will never be able to bring Parrikar’s vision of development into life”, Sisodia said.

Attacking the saffron party, Sisodia said, “BJP will never make an impact on Goa’s progress. Whoever has the vision to bring growth in Goa should join hands with AAP, we can together work towards Goa’s development. Join our fleet of 4000 volunteers who have the ability to take forward Parrikar’s vision for Goa.”

The deputy CM also said, the model of BJP and the Congress is to buy MLAs and indulge in dirty politics to win elections. “They don’t form a government based on people’s votes but based on which MLAs they bought. This money used to buy MLAs is of tax-payers that could be used to provide free electricity to the people in Goa”, he said.

If BJP and Congress accumulated money for redevelopment of Goa instead of buying MLAs, incomplete projects would have been ready by now. He outlined Delhi’s example where a flyover was built in 12 months, with the least amount of money.

Sisodia lauded AAP’s Goa team for growing in strength by the day. “Goa’s team has become bigger and bigger and this makes me and all members of AAP in Delhi immensely happy. It makes me proud that 4000 volunteers in 40 districts of Goa have been working towards our common goal of development”, he said.

The people of Goa have made up their mind to support good politics. It is no small feat that a new party started 6 years back got a vote share of 15% in Goa. “Someone like Hanzel Fernandes, a 26-year old member of AAP who won a seat in Goa gives us hope that there are people who are dedicated, who want to bring change in Goa”, he said.

Stating that AAP is the only hope for Goans, Sisodia said he was confident the party would come to power in 2022. “AAP will lead the way for progress in Goa”, he said.

Making a case to increase the party’s volunteer base, he said, “today there are 4000 volunteers, we have to increase our volunteer base to at least 10,000, only then we will inspire change. Many well-wishers tell us that AAP is doing very well in Goa, that we will attain at least 3 seats”.

In our initial years before we came into power in Delhi, many people told us that we would get at least 2-3 seats but because of Arvind Kejriwal’s vision of Delhi, we won the elections and we have been winning for 3 consecutive years in Delhi.

People see the strides that we are making for Delhi’s development, and we want to do the same in Goa, he said.

“We will strive for a Goa model which takes into account the needs of the people. We will ensure that best education, healthcare and welfare facilities will be provided to Goans”, he added.
