Expressing surprise over MPA’s withdrawal of show cause notice to Kargwal on the Nauxim marina project, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Ramrao Wagh warned the powers that be not to play with the sentiments of the people and threatened to revive the agitation against the project. When contacted by The Goan, Wagh informed that the entire bay from Dona Paula to Agassaim is ecologically rich.
“Recently, there is a revival in the ecosystem in the area as the once extinct Windowpane Oysters, popularly known as Mendeos, have resurfaced,” Wagh said.
“This project is not viable in the area as it will be a big ecological disaster and it will also threaten people’s livelihood,” said Wagh, while adding that MPA should respect the sentiments of the people who have time and again voiced their opposition to the project.
“MPA, Centre or the State government should not play with the sentiments of the people by reopening a dead issue,” he said while adding that the revival of the project is highly objectionable and if any attempt is made to go ahead, it will meet with stiff opposition.
