With several areas still hit by water shortage in Canacona taluka, the AAP on Monday led a delegation of residents from Muthal and Sadolxem to the PWD (water supply) office at Canacona.
The residents sought to know from the assistant engineer what action had been taken by him on their representation submitted last Wednesday regarding non-availability of potable water to areas of Sadolxem, Agonda and elsewhere.
“Once again, most of the staff employees were missing. We met the assistant engineer and inquired about the action taken by him on the representation submitted by us on April 20, to which he had no satisfactory reply,” AAP Goa spokesperson Sandesh Telekar told The Goan.
“We also informed him that many of his staff employees were missing from their workplaces. We requested him to accompany us for a round of his office. He agreed and we were surprised to see that some of the missing staff were found at their workplaces,” said Telekar.
The AAP workers then got D'Souza to assure on camera that most affected houses which had no water supply for the last several days would get regular water supply.
The agitating residents along with AAP activists then met the Deputy Collector Pundalik Korjuvenkar and informed him about the grievances of the villagers.
“Korjuvenkar called the assistant engineer to his office and directed him to take necessary measures to resolve the issue permanently,” Telekar stated.
