The party’s chief chief ministerial candidate Elvis Gomes released the manifesto, which lays stress on giving boost to sports. It promises 350 locally managed sports grounds in a bid to regain Goa’s lost footballing glory.
“The AAP government will create 50,000 jobs in five years by promoting entrepreneurship development and supporting existing and new industries like hospitality, IT, food processing, farming, bio-pharmaceutical and entertainment, which are conducive to local youth,” the manifesto reads.
To invite industry to Goa, the party has promised single-window clearances along with tax holidays to set up eco-friendly units.
In a bid to attract more youth, the party has promised to set up two new start-up incubation centres with `2-crore annual funding, besides an Aam Aadmi Rozgar Yojana (AARY) for loans up to `50 lakh with simple application process for self-employment.
Banking on the fact that the party’s chief ministerial candidate is also the President of the Goa Football Association, the party has promised that “football in Goa will be revitalized.”
“Local football clubs, competitive and professional footballers will be supported financially and administratively. 350 locally managed sports grounds will be made available across Goa,” the manifesto reads.
Speaking of education the AAP has promised “to ensure high quality education and infrastructure in government schools.”
Several other programmes like skill development, higher education loans, self-employment and employment in traditional sectors have been promised.
“Teachers will be freed from non-academic activities such as surveys, election duties, statewide reading campaigns and teacher outstation training programmes will be initiated,” the manifesto promised.
Making a tall promises, the party has promised that Goa will have its first sports university, first agricultural university and skill imparting university for developing well-paying, respectable careers in sports, organic farming and agricultural science.
