While the government and the opposition were engaged in needless power struggles, the common man in the state was facing one of the worst power outages during these hot summer months, the Aam Aadmi Party has said.
In a statement to the media, the AAP called upon the government to show some concern for the common man in the state.
“We know that this government works for the corporates and wheeler-dealers. But at least show some concern to the common man,” AAP convener Elvis Gomes said.
Gomes said that with the CM away for treatment, many from the government side including the officers were holidaying abroad leaving the people in the state to sweat it out during the hottest time of the year.
Calling upon the government to learn from the AAP that supplies electricity at half the price in Delhi, Gomes said that the State should think of compensating the people for power outages.
“The neglect of safety aspects where poor linesman like Devidas Velip get electrocuted and lose life due to alleged faulty work of the appointed contractor is a case in point,” Gomes said.
