The AAP on Tuesday unveiled its organisational force -- a group of 40 constituency coordinators, which according to its national spokesperson Ashutosh, will be a bridge between the party and the voters in each of their respective constituencies.
Addressing a press conference ahead of the party’s upcoming rally by its national convenor at Campal grounds on Sunday, Ashutosh said that the ability of the State unit of the party to build a base within a short span of six months exceeded even their own expectations.
“This is a historic day... We have completed the first phase or organisation and development in Goa. You go to any corner there is talk of AAP. The task might look small but it isn’t so. Even national parties have not accomplished organisation of such development in such a small time,” Ashutosh told media persons in Panaji adding that other parties have taken decades and years to accomplish what the AAP has done in a few years.
He said AAP’s force was the “most motivated and dedicated force” has done a brilliant job in reaching out to more than two lakh people ahead of the rally and has its dream to change Goa and change politics in Goa.
The team constitutes of some prominent names including Wilbur Ticlo, an aspiring candidate from Porvorim constituency, Ursula D’Souza, who until recently was the Aldona sarpanch, Dr Dattaram Desai, who contested on an AAP ticket in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and several others including activists.
On the issue of the party’s rally on Sunday, leaders have said that while the party has invited more than 2-lakh people, they do not have any expectations on how many would finally attend the rally.
Aam Aadmi Party's National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, will arrive in Goa on Sunday, May 22, by a civilian flight at the Dabolim airport at 3 pm.
He will then be driven by an AAP Goa volunteer straight to the Campal grounds where he will address Goans face-to-face for the first time since launching the Aam Aadmi Party three years ago.
He will leave for Delhi on May 23 but in the morning hold a closed door interaction with AAP's organisation and all volunteers in Panjim.
Kejriwal is scheduled to pay homage to three icons of Goa's history “ Dr T B Cunha, Bhausaheb Bandodkar and Dr Jack de Sequeira on Monday morning.
