ACGL union eyes strike option as management ignores demands

VALPOI

The ACGL workers' union at Bhuipal has issued an indefinite strike notice to meet the demands of the workers.  A 15-day notice has been issued, which expires on February 28, after which the workers seek to go on strike.

Meanwhile, with a view to calling an indefinite strike, the annual general meeting of the workers' union will be held on Wednesday, February 23 at 4 p.m. at Sundaram Honda.

It is learned that senior general officers of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Kamgar Sanghatana{ MNSKS} will be present at the annual general meeting.  As a result, the company's workers may go on strike.

It is learned that a struggle has been going on for the last three years between the worker's union and the management to meet the various demands of the workers union of the company at Bhuipal Sattari.

The demands submitted by the trade union to the management have not been met yet.  The disgruntled workers had gone on strike for 15 days two months ago.  At this time, many workers unions and political parties had expressed their full support to this movement.

After that, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant  assured that he would take the matter seriously.  So far, Sawant has not paid any attention to the demands of the workers.  Outraged by this, the workers have now decided to go on strike once again.  The notice has been submitted to the management of the company on February 12.  Copies of this notice have also been submitted to the 15 days to meet the demands of the workers.

It has been warned to go on strike from February 28 if the demand is not considered sympathetically within a fortnight.

Meanwhile, the annual general meeting of the worker's union is being held on Wednesday 23rd February at 4 pm at Sundaram Hall in Honda, Sattari to decide the direction of the agitation.  Workers union is affiliated to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Kamgar Sanghatana in Maharashtra.

At this time, senior officers of the organization had joined the strike.  Now, once again, the strike strategy will be decided at the annual general meeting to be held on Wednesday.  It is learned that senior officers of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Kamgar Sanghatana will be present to guide the workers on the strategy regarding the strike.
