Troubled Honda-based bus bodybuilder Automobile Corporation of Goa Limited (ACGL) which had been regularly facing labour trouble has apparently reached a truce and resolved a pending long-term settlement issue with its employees.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant's office on Wednesday claimed that a long-term settlement issue of the ACGL workers has been resolved following the intervention of the chief minister.
The CMO, however, did not provide any specific details of the settlement nor has ACGL issued any official communique.
Back in October last year, a set of employees had resorted to a strike claiming that the company's policies were anti-worker.
The company on its part, however, has stood firm that all its policies related to employees are productivity-linked and had made it the benchmark for any long term settlement with their workers’ union.
