The depositors comprising Cruz Cardozo, Senita Rodrigues and Jeffula Pereira told the media that they had come to the court last week since accused Raikar had moved for bail. “Adv Rajiv Gomes has levelled false allegations that the depositors wanted to manhandle him in court. This is not true. We had all come to the court since the accused had moved for bail. We had met the mother and wife of the accused and did not harm them,” Pereira said, while demanding to know why would the depositors threaten or manhandle Adv Gomes.
She pointed out that the depositors were told to go downstairs by the police and were later called for discussion at the insistence of Adv Gomes. “Let me make it clear that the depositors did not seek an audience with Adv Gomes, but we were all called by the lawyer for a discussion,” Pereira added.
