The Annual General Body Meeting of the MMTC Retired Employees Welfare Association Goa Region (MMTCREWAGR), held at Hotel HQ, Vasco da Gama yesterday and was well attended.
MMTC office in Vasco shuttered down in 2019, leaving close to a hundred ex-employees spread over Goa, Karwar and Redi. MMTCREWAGR President Sh. A F Sequeira and the Secretary Sh. L S Porob in their address raised the issue of loss/misplacement of medical claims by the administrative office in Mumbai, resulting in hardship to the members. The need to empanel more hospitals for the convenience of the seniors was stressed. The need to pursue the enhanced pension from EPFO as per the judgement of the Supreme Court was also raised.
Officials from the All-India Forum of Ex Employees Welfare Associations present for the meeting were Sh. S K Vashist, President and Sh. K A Narasimhan. The Secretary General assured MMTCREWAGR that they would use their office to redress the grievances at the earliest. In respect of the enhanced pension, Sh. K A Narasimhan outlined the course of action, which includes a meeting of the All India body and fund collection to pursue the matter legally for an early resolution.
Sh. V M P Desai, Joint Secretary raised a vote of thanks. The function was compered by Committee Member, Mala Dabolkar.
Later Dr. Viveka Barros gave a meaningful talk on ‘Redefine Ageing’. The Clinical Dietician explained in simple language how to lead a healthy life without overdose of medication.
The talk was followed by fellowship and lunch.
