Raising doubts over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statements that India first is the only religion and the Constitution is the only holy book, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) Spokesperson Ramesh Shinde has questioned if so, then why the entry of Shri Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik is banned in Goa and how Russians and Nigerians with criminal records are allowed in the State.
The fifth edition of ‘All India Hindu Convention’ got underway at Ramnathi-Ponda on Sunday. The conference was inaugurated by Sanatan’s Saint Anuradha Wadekar, Tanuja Thakur of Vedik Upasana Peeth, Swami Diyajeevandasji Maharaj, Mahant Ichchhagiri Maharaj of the Panchamdash Juna Akhada in Tuljapur, Maharashtra and Dr Charudatta Pingale, the National Guide of HJS. Over 400 delegates from 22 states in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka are attending the convention.
It may be recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Lok Sabha last year had asserted that for his government 'India first' is the only religion and the Constitution is the only holy book.
“If the only 'dharma granth' (holy book) is the Constitution, then why Muthalik's entry is banned in Goa, when he has right under the Constitution to go to any State,” Shinde questioned.
“It is strange that though Nigerians staying in Goa are accused of rape cases, they are allowed here,” Shinde added.
Muthalik had attended the Hindu convention in 2013, but couldn't attend last two conventions due to ban on him entering Goa.
He said political parties which claim to be secular will never help to achieve motto of ‘Hindu Nation'.
“The one who are found showing their willingness to join ISIS are not punished, but they are given counselling. Isn’t it strange,” Shinde questioned.
Ischagiri Maharaj praised Hindu Jan Jagruti saying it was doing a good work for establishing Hindu nation.
Swami Divyajeevandasji Maharaj said: “The incident that occurred in Jawaharal Nehru Institute has raised question and doubts whether Hindus are safe in India.”
He urged the Hindus to come together and get united for establishing Hindu nation. “Mothers day and fathers day are celebrated widely. Why the same spirit is not shown for independence day,” he questioned.
“When sun goes towards west, we should understand that it will hide and hence we should wait for new day of life,” he added.
